Who we are
Chicago INNERVIEW Magazine is a monthly print publication focusing on live music and entertainment in Chicago as well as city, state and national politics. The magazine was founded in 2003 with a sole emphasis on local concerts and has since been expanded to include in-depth investigative reporting as well as coverage of the White House and national political events like Inauguration Day, Election Day and The Democratic National Convention. The magazine also publishes comprehensive festival guides dedicated to the annual Lollapalooza and Pitchfork Music Festivals taking place in Chicago each summer.

Whether covering local concerts or national politics, Chicago INNERVIEW can be counted on for its unique insight and analysis that readers have come to rely upon. From its recent 12-month series on the 2008 presidential campaign and Obama Administration to its comprehensive analysis of the U.S. music industry, Chicago INNERVIEW is a trusted source in news, music and politics — in both the Windy City and beyond. The magazine also hosts regular events in Chicago and is an important partner in national industry events like the South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas, as well as the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City. The magazine is a subsidiary of INNERVIEW Media, Inc., based in Boulder, Colorado.

What we do
Chicago INNERVIEW targets a monthly surveyed readership of 47,000 people by circulating 20,000 print copies per month at 300 distribution outlets in the city and a few near suburbs. We can be found throughout Chicago, but are specifically targeting the neighborhoods of Bucktown/Wicker Park, Lincoln Park/Lake View, Rogers Park/Uptown, UIC/South Loop and West Loop/Downtown.

Our monthly magazine features approximately between 30 and 40 band interviews and previews per issue, as well as occasional concert or album reviews, news reports, political analysis, investigative and general music features, a comprehensive live music venue listing, and a complete day-to-day concert calendar.

Where we are
Chicago INNERVIEW can be found in the top venues, entertainment centers, record stores, coffeehouses, universities, bookstores and shops frequented by our young adult audience. A complete list of our distribution outlets is available at www.chicagoinnnerview.com/where_to_find.htm.

We circulate through stacking, through sponsorship booths at local music events as well as through direct distribution at shows. Each month our street team heads out to the biggest concerts and events in order to hand out magazines directly to attendees, placing the publication directly into the hands of the fans — a highly effective direct marketing technique not available through any other publication. Chicago INNERVIEW also circulates the publication through its trademark black newspaper bins placed at train stops and other key high-traffic areas of the city.

We are also worldwide, clocking in between 400,000 and 500,000 hits to our Web site every month, with readers consulting the publication from all corners of the globe. We also boast a monthly e-mail newsletter with more than 3,000 subscribers — targeted to serious music fans and high-level industry professionals nationwide. They come to us because the quality of our content is simply unmatched by any comparable print or online publication, whether on a local or on a national basis.
